May is Mental Health awareness Month raising awareness about the importance of mental health and to encourage people to seek help when needed.
I have been fortunate enough to work with McLean Hospital which provides education and awareness to the public about mental illness. One of my favorite campaigns to work on is the Deconstructing Stigma Campaign.
McLean Hospital's Deconstructing Stigma campaign aims to break down the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental illness. The campaign features real stories and experiences of individuals who have struggled with mental health challenges, as well as family members, friends, and caregivers who have supported them through their journeys.
Through the Deconstructing Stigma campaign, McLean Hospital hopes to encourage people to speak openly and honestly about mental health issues, and to challenge negative stereotypes and attitudes that prevent individuals from seeking help. The campaign aims to provide a platform for individuals to share their stories, to show that mental illness is a common experience that can affect anyone, and to promote the message that recovery is possible.
